This is a Japanese series full of humor and lots of comedy- very hillarious. Its translated name in English is The Full Time Wife Escapist, streaming on Netflix. I watched with sub-tutles in English still I kept my headphones on to capture the tones and emotions.
Here is my take on the series:
Storyline: Series is on the life of an IT geek and a free spirited young woman who live together under a special arrangement. I don’t want to elaborate too much on the story but twist and turns are absolutely hillarious and its impossible not to laugh. It did not feel that I don’t know language at all.
Screenplay, Editing. Costume and Location: Series is spread over in 11 episodes- well created and edited. There were not too many locations used so it was comparatively simpler that way.
Acting: On the acting front, everyone performed pretty well whether short appearance or longer duration. Here is my take in the order starting my favorite best:
- Yui Aragaki(Mikuri);
- Gen Hoshino(Tsuzaki) ;
- Arata Furuta(Numata);
- Yuriko Ishida(Yuri);
- Ryohei Otani(Kazami);
Message / Feedback /Review for Producers / Film-Makers: I am a big fan of TV series and movies and enjoy entertainment of all nations and languages. Just a suggestion, this series has storyline with characters which are invariably available in all countries. Therefore, this series should have re-make in many languages and this is a best seller. Producer should market this script to be made in other languages. This is a sure seller in any language. This must be tried, more so due to WGA strike.
My suggestion as a Bollywood Project:
Kriti Sanon or Sara Ali Khan as lead Female Actor; Rajkumar Rao as lead Male Actor
My suggestion as a Hollywood Project:
Kaley Cuoco as lead Female Actor; Johnny Galecki as lead Male Actor (It might look like repeat of The Big Bang Theory duo but would be a great seller)
Message / Feedback/ Review for Viewers: This is a Must see series for all viewers – understand Japanese or not. Any series or movie can be watched with the option of audio language and/ or with sub-titles in various languages. In my view,this series has potential viewers from all over the world.
