This is another area of my hobby and passion – entertainment industry so I will be writing these blogs as well in my website.
I am so impressed, fascinated and enjoyed watching TV Series Khakee- The Bihar Chapter on Netflix. I watched it like 15 times already. Here is my take on the series:
Storyline: Series is based on a book written by Amit Lodha, an Indian Police Service(IPS) officer, on the life of a big time gangster in the State of Bihar (India). Story is primarily rise and fall of a simple villager turned into a powerful gangster in early 2000s, and of course, it has been fictionalized for message and entertainment. Series is created and written by Neeraj Pandey, well known in Bollywood.
Screenplay, Editing. Costume and Location: Screenplays are well knitted and well edited. There is not an inch of extra footage rather this series could have been enhanced by another three episodes. Locations are covering wide geographical area to give a realistic point and it served the purpose. Costume designs are unbelievable as if I look at the pictures of these actors Vs. how they look in this series. They don’t look any different than actual citizens of the area.
Acting: There is no limit to the appreciation of actors in this series. Everyone performed to the best whether short appearance or longer duration. Still I would like to provide my take in the order starting my favorite best:
- Avinash Tiwari (Chandan Mahto);
- Aishwarya Sushmita (Meeta Devi) ;
- Karan Tacker (Amit Lodha);
- Ravi Kishan ( Udai Singh);
- Ashutosh Rana (Mukteshwar Chobey)- Should have been more on-screen time;
- Abhimanyu Singh ( SHO Ranjan Kumar);
- Vinay Pathak ( CM Sri Ujjiar)- Should have been more on-screen time.
Message / Feedback for Producer / Film-Maker: I am a big fan of TV series and movies and enjoy entertainment of all nations and languages. Just a suggestion, all series should also have a complete English translation. In this case, 75% name is English anyway. Here is my suggested name to appear with the name: Cops- The Bihar Chapter.
Message / Feedback for Viewers: Today’s world of Netflix and other streaming channels, audience is not limited to the country of one language. Any series or movie can be watched with the option of audio language and/ or with sub-titles in various languages. In my view,this series has potential viewers from countries of South America, Africa and of course other Asian countries in addition to India.
